Dee Hackworth – Corporate Compliance Officer, Director of Contracted Services

JOB TITLE:  Corporate Compliance Officer/Director of Contracted Services (Holzer)

LOCATION:  OVP Corporate Office (Huntington)/Holzer Health System

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:  RN, Masters in Nursing Administration; CPR, ACLS, PALS instructor

JOB DUTIES:  I handle all regulatory matters for our office locations. Keeping us in compliance with all the state regulations (with offices in three states) is not an easy thing to do!  I also handle our CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accreditation and keeping us in compliance and up to date. Most recently, I started as Director of Contracted Services with Holzer. I attend all of the Holzer meetings and act as a liaison between Ohio Valley Physicians and Holzer.

WHY I DO THIS:  I love the diversity of what I do. I never know from day to day what I might be doing. I enjoy the regulatory part of keeping our offices in compliance, but I also enjoy getting back into the hospital and being able to be a part of providing excellent service to Holzer Health System.

WORKING AT OVP/AHS:  It’s truly a family owned and operated company – and you very much feel that you are part of the family! When I started working at OVP/AHS a year ago, it was a huge change for me. I had always worked in the hospital setting. So the things I have learned from the staff have really impacted me and the way I look at addiction. I think from a medical point of view, it’s easy to label people when they come into the hospital and have the attitude that “they must have brought this on themselves.” But the counseling staff have totally and completely opened my eyes to the world that an addict lives in! I have huge respect for our office staff and the struggles they encounter when trying to help the patient and the families we treat.

OUTSIDE OF WORK:  I so enjoy walking our German Shepherd. And on days that I can’t be outside, I enjoy reading and relaxing.
